Yes. Transport for NSW requires an in-cabin camera for every Final Competency Assessment, and the footage can be reviewed. Every provider running a compliant assessment does this — if a school tells you otherwise, that is worth asking about.
Yes. NSW rules require your FCA to be conducted by a different assessor from the one who trained you, so assessment-only bookings are a normal part of the scheme. Bring your log book with your training units signed off.
If you train and are assessed in an automatic or synchromesh truck, your licence carries a B condition, which means you are not allowed to drive a constant-mesh (crash box) truck. Roadranger training removes that restriction from the start. Tipper, agitator, concrete and linehaul operators commonly run crash boxes.

No. You can go straight from a full car licence to HR once you have held it for two years. You do need an unrestricted MR or HR before you can go for HC.
Two years on a full class C licence. For LR and MR it is 12 months. Learner-licence time does not count toward either. If you are close to the two-year mark, check your issue date on your licence card before you book — we cannot assess you early.
