HC Truck Driving Course: Automatic / Synchromesh Manual Option

Course Overview: This option is ideal for students who wish to obtain an HC licence to drive vehicles equipped with automatic or synchromesh manual gearboxes. It offers a smoother transition for drivers already comfortable with basic driving skills.
Course Includes:
- Pre-Operational Checks: Vehicle safety and inspection.
- Driving Skills: Master steering, braking, gear handling (automatic/synchromesh), road rule application, and vehicle control.
- Load Securing: Learn how to ensure load safety.
- Hill Start/Stop: Manage challenging terrain.
Outcome: Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to drive large rigid vehicles with an automatic or synchromesh manual gearbox, enabling you to operate heavy rigid trucks (over 8 tonnes GVM, 3 or more axles) and tow a trailer up to 9 tonnes GVM.
Eligibility:
- Must have held a full car licence for at least 2 years.
- Successfully passed the HC Driver Knowledge Test.
